Isaiah 62

1. For Tziyon’s sake I will not be silent, 1 for Yerushalayim’s sake I will not rest, 1 until her vindication shines out brightly 1 and her salvation like a blazing torch.

2. The nations will see your vindication 2 and all kings your glory. 2 Then you will be called by a new name 2 which Adonai himself will pronounce.

3. You will be a glorious crown in the hand of Adonai, 3 a royal diadem held by your God.

4. You will no longer be spoken of as ‘Azuvah [Abandoned] 4 or your land be spoken of as ‘Sh’mamah [Desolate]; 4 rather, you will be called Heftzi-Vah [My-Delight-Is-In-Her] 4 and your land Be‘ulah [Married]. 4 For Adonai delights in you, 4 and your land will be married —

5. as a young man marries a young woman, 5 your sons will marry you; 5 as a bridegroom rejoices over the bride, 5 your God will rejoice over you.

6. I have posted watchmen 6 on your walls, Yerushalayim; 6 they will never fall silent, 6 neither by day nor by night. 6 You who call on Adonai, 6 give yourselves no rest;

7. and give him no rest till he restores Yerushalayim 7 and makes it a praise on earth.

8. Adonai has sworn by his right hand 8 and by his mighty arm: 8 “Never again will I give your grain 8 to your enemies as food; 8 nor will strangers drink your wine, 8 for which you worked so hard;

9. but those who harvest the grain will eat it 9 with praises to Adonai; 9 those who gathered the wine will drink it 9 in the courtyards of my sanctuary.”

10. Go on through, go on through the gates, 10 clear the way for the people! 10 Build up a highway, build it up! 10 Clear away the stones! 10 Raise a banner for the peoples!

11. Adonai has proclaimed to the end of the earth, 11 “Say to the daughter of Tziyon, 11 ‘Here, your Salvation is coming! 11 Here, his reward is with him, 11 and his recompense is before him.’”

12. They will call them The Holy People, 12 The Redeemed of Adonai. 12 You will be called D’rushah [Sought-After], 12 ‘Ir Lo Ne‘ezvah [City-No-Longer-Abandoned].
