Psalm 1
Book I: Psalms 1–41
1. How blessed are those 1 who reject the advice of the wicked, 1 don’t stand on the way of sinners 1 or sit where scoffers sit!
2. Their delight 2 is in Adonai’s Torah; 2 on his Torah they meditate 2 day and night.
3. They are like trees planted by streams — 3 they bear their fruit in season, 3 their leaves never wither, 3 everything they do succeeds.
4. Not so the wicked, 4 who are like chaff driven by the wind.
5. For this reason the wicked 5 won’t stand up to the judgment, 5 nor will sinners 5 at the gathering of the righteous.
6. For Adonai watches over 6 the way of the righteous, 6 but the way of the wicked 6 is doomed.
