Psalm 99

1. 1 The Lord is king! 1 Let the nations tremble! 1 He sits on his throne between the cherubim. 1 Let the whole earth quake!

2. The Lord sits in majesty in Jerusalem,[a] 2 exalted above all the nations.

3. Let them praise your great and awesome name. 3 Your name is holy!

4. Mighty King, lover of justice, 4 you have established fairness. 4 You have acted with justice 4 and righteousness throughout Israel.[b]

5. Exalt the Lord our God! 5 Bow low before his feet, for he is holy!

6. Moses and Aaron were among his priests; 6 Samuel also called on his name. 6 They cried to the Lord for help, 6 and he answered them.

7. He spoke to Israel from the pillar of cloud, 7 and they followed the laws and decrees he gave them.

8. O Lord our God, you answered them. 8 You were a forgiving God to them, 8 but you punished them when they went wrong.

9. Exalt the Lord our God, 9 and worship at his holy mountain in Jerusalem, 9 for the Lord our God is holy!
