Psalm 14

Psalm 14

1. For the choir director: A psalm of David. 1 1 Only fools say in their hearts, 1 “There is no God.” 1 They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; 1 not one of them does good!

2. The Lord looks down from heaven 2 on the entire human race; 2 he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, 2 if anyone seeks God.

3. But no, all have turned away; 3 all have become corrupt.[a] 3 No one does good, 3 not a single one!

4. Will those who do evil never learn? 4 They eat up my people like bread 4 and wouldn’t think of praying to the Lord.

5. Terror will grip them, 5 for God is with those who obey him.

6. The wicked frustrate the plans of the oppressed, 6 but the Lord will protect his people.

7. Who will come from Mount Zion to rescue Israel? 7 When the Lord restores his people, 7 Jacob will shout with joy, and Israel will rejoice.
