Psalm 53
There Is None Who Does Good
1. To the choirmaster: according to Mahalath. A Maskil[a] of David. 1 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” 1 They are corrupt, doing abominable iniquity; 1 there is none who does good.
2. God looks down from heaven 2 on the children of man 2 to see if there are any who understand,[b] 2 who seek after God.
3. They have all fallen away; 3 together they have become corrupt; 3 there is none who does good, 3 not even one.
4. Have those who work evil no knowledge, 4 who eat up my people as they eat bread, 4 and do not call upon God?
5. There they are, in great terror, 5 where there is no terror! 5 For God scatters the bones of him who encamps against you; 5 you put them to shame, for God has rejected them.
6. Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! 6 When God restores the fortunes of his people, 6 let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.
